ABOUT THE EVENT
Donors & Doers is the annual convening of the Minority Freedom Community Fund (MFCF)—a gathering where community builders, funders, founders, and movement-makers come together to celebrate, strategize, and resource the work of grassroots transformation.
Now in its fifth year, this milestone event will be hosted at Aya House, a homegrown community space in Detroit’s historic Eastern Market founded to uplift and sustain Black-led change.
What started as a small community recognition ceremony has grown into a multi-day experience of connection, capacity-building, and culture, bringing together some of Detroit’s boldest visionaries with national partners and neighbors alike.
This year’s theme, Power Up the People, calls us to invest in those doing the work every day—quietly, courageously, and with deep love for community. Through thought-provoking sessions, joy-filled performances, and hands-on resource sharing, Donors & Doers offers space for rest, renewal, and radical imagination.
Whether you’re a first-time attendee or part of the founding family, this event is for anyone who believes in the power of people to create lasting change.
Join us as we celebrate five years of impact—and charge into the next five, together.
